The Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod awards scholarships to four aspiring artists

The Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod (PPSCC) is pleased to announce that four talented aspiring artists have been honored in the 2021 Scholarship Awards Program. Sophia Kasparian of Falmouth High School, Eloise Mills of Falmouth High School, Tyla Packish an alumna of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School currently studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and Ally Whaples of Sandwich High School, will each receive a scholarship of $500 in the form of a gift certificate for the purchase of art supplies and a set of artist grade pastels. An awards presentation and pop-up exhibit co-sponsored by the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and the Cape and Islands Art Educators Association at the Cape Cod Museum of Art was held on May 21 with award winning photographer Julia Cumes delivering an inspirational talk.

All recipients of this award plan to study a visual arts related field at the postsecondary level. Applicants submitted five examples of artwork, a statement of art background, experience and future aspirations to pursue visual arts, and a recommendation from their schools.
